Responsibilities:
  • As a Cyber Defense Infrastructure Support Specialist Senior at GDIT, you'll take charge of your career and have the chance to establish robust cyber defense mechanisms utilizing state-of-the-art technologies. Your contributions will help secure our clients' missions and allow us to stay ahead of future threats.
  • You will join a program responsible for maintaining several systems and networks that provide the infrastructure platforms for the Agency's capabilities and data. This team is accountable for system administration, identity and authentication, information system security accreditation, data storage and backup, physical infrastructure maintenance, and automation development.
  • In this role, you will work collaboratively with a team that develops, operates, maintains, and enhances cybersecurity tools. These tools are deployed across secure environments to support incident response, threat detection, and event monitoring. You will integrate data from various centralized and local system sources to ensure effective and timely responses to cybersecurity incidents. Furthermore, you will create new applications, algorithms, and automation to streamline workflows and improve data analysis. Your contributions will also include collaborating to integrate security requirements into technical solutions and conducting ongoing research to adopt emerging technologies that will enhance the Agency’s overall cybersecurity posture.

To thrive in this position, you should possess:

- 8+ years of experience with:
- Administration in a Linux-based environment (preferred)
- Testing, implementing, deploying, maintaining, and managing infrastructure hardware and software for cybersecurity (preferred)
- Developing, creating, modifying, and maintaining computer applications, software, or specialized utility programs for cybersecurity (preferred)
- Integrating third-party components, introducing new custom capabilities, modifying existing code, recommending process improvements, and automating operations and maintenance tasks (preferred)
- Experience with Splunk, Oracle/SQL-based platforms, and Python (preferred)

- Certifications (at least on one of the following is preferred):
- Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA)
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Associate

- Education:
- Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field along with at least 6 years of experience. Alternatives allow for no degree with 10 years of experience, an Associate’s degree with 8 years, a Master’s degree with 4 years, or a Ph.D. with 2 years of experience.

- Security Clearance Level: Must hold a Top Secret (TS) clearance with the ability to obtain access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) and pass a Counterintelligence Polygraph.

- Work Location: Onsite in Huntsville, Alabama
