DevOps Platform Engineer (AWS) Location Hybrid remote in Colorado Springs, CO :

Responsibilities Peraton is seeking a DevOps Platform Engineer (AWS) to support our Space Force customer. The SWAFS program is migrating legacy capabilities into the AWS cloud, while continuously adding new capabilities for legacy applications and users. The DevOps AWS/Cloud Engineer will assist migrating legacy tools to the cloud while delivering new capabilities built upon decades of environmental science and celestial studies to increase the immediate awareness and risks to DOD Infrastructure and Systems, advancing Space Weather Forecasting capabilities. Must be local to Colorado Springs, CO or Chantilly, VA. The selected candidate will be joining a witty and jovial team of Platform Engineers. The successful candidate will have a strong working background in developing and operating cloud-based infrastructure for Government clients. They will also have experience deploying and debugging, systems administration, container management and orchestration, scripting & automation skills, and fundamental understanding of DevSecOps concepts. What you'll do: The DevOps Cloud Engineer will be responsible for the following but not limited to: - Develop infrastructure automation to deploy, secure, orchestrate, and manage, AWS resources.
- Design and develop CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and containerized application deployments.
- Play a key role in migrating and transforming legacy solutions to AWS
Qualifications Required Qualifications: - A Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience; OR a Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- This position requires the candidate possess a minimum of Secret clearance with ability to upgrade to TS/SCI. The candidate must obtain and maintain the clearance.
- Demonstrated, hands-on experience managing declarative infrastructure on AWS; especially AWS GovCloud.
- Direct, hands-on experience using Terraform to deploy AWS infrastructure; additional experience with CloudFormation is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with AWS EKS; using Kubectl and Helm.
- Ability to work without supervision using GitLab for CI/CD; including experience with pipeline development.
- Scripting experience with python and bash.
- A current/valid Security+ certification (or equivalent DOD 8570 IAT II Level Certification) or ability to obtain the certification within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications: - Ability to develop Lambda functions in Python or Go.
- K nowledge of secure coding practices including, secrets management, and vulnerability remediation
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems
- Experience with container administration methods
