Job Description

 

The Automotive Title Clerk at Columbus Auto Group plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of vehicle titles and related paperwork. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, knowledge of title regulations, and the ability to work efficiently with various stakeholders. The Automotive Title Clerk supports the smooth operation of the dealership's administrative functions related to vehicle ownership and documentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Process vehicle title transfers, registrations, and other related documents in compliance with state regulations.
  • Review and verify accuracy of title paperwork, including buyer and seller information, lienholder details, and vehicle identification.
  • Collaborate with sales and finance departments to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with customers, lienholders, and government agencies to resolve any title-related issues or discrepancies.
  • Maintain organized records of all title-related documents and transactions.
  • Stay updated on state-specific title regulations and industry changes that may impact title processing.
  • Assist with other administrative tasks as needed.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience as an automotive title clerk or in a similar administrative role within the automotive industry is preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of title processing procedures and state-specific regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in document handling.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and software applications related to title processing.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with customers, colleagues, and government agencies.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with dealership management systems (DMS) is advantageous.
