Job Summary A Sales Manager is responsible for leading the pre-owned vehicle sales department which includes: inventory management, sales performance results, employee supervision and training, and customer satisfaction in the pre-owned vehicle sales department. Specific Job-Related Duties and Responsibilities
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Proven track record in automotive retail industry as an automotive General Sales Manager, New Car Manager, Finance Director, and Used Car Manager
  • Excellent business skills
  • Solid supervisory and leadership experience, with a track record of mentoring and growing employees
  • Ability to work a car deal from front to back efficiently
  • Manage and oversee activities of variable operations
  • Hands on active manager that is involved in all aspects of the sales process
  • Work with general manager, sales, and finance management to meet monthly new/used/F&I objectives
  • Motivate, reward, and train employees
  • Maintain impeccable sales CSI scores
  • Help with inventory management
  • Responsible for making sure CIT list is resolved before deadlines
  • Lead by example and ensure that the core values of the company are encompassed in behavior at all times
  • Hires, trains, supervises, and monitors the performance of the new- and used-vehicle department managers
  • Participates in the preparation of the annual dealership forecast by projecting unit sales, gross profits, expenses, and operating profits for the new-, and used-sales departments
  • Meets with sales managers (new and used) to establish annual and monthly objectives for unit sales, gross profits, expenses, and operating profit
Establishes procedures for quick disposal of averaged vehicles
  • Meets with the general manager to review monthly forecasts, commission meets, productivity reports, and the profit performance of each department as a whole and each salesperson individually
  • Approves all sales incentives in writing before submitting to the office
Addresses customer complaints to ensure high level of customer satisfaction
  • Audits all appraisals of trade-in vehicles
  • Reviews and initials all deals before they are posted
  • Maintain value, quality, and integrity
General Company Related Duties and Responsibilities
  • Report to work within acceptable time frames and company standards.
  • Maintain appropriate degree of professionalism towards customers and coworkers.
Qualifications
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Prior Sales Leadership – Dealership experience required
  • Strong customer focus
