Position Summary

We are currently seeking a Registered Nurse Clinical Reviewer to support a non-profit organization in Lake Success, NY . This full-time, six-month contract role focuses on clinical reviews, appeals, and regulatory research to ensure compliance and improve patient care outcomes. Ideal candidates will be detail-oriented, collaborative, and passionate about healthcare advocacy.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct clinical reviews and appeals, including chart screening, regulatory research, and documentation
  • Prepare final determinations and complete necessary reporting in electronic systems
  • Serve as a resource for clinical and administrative staff, including training and case clarification
  • Participate in team huddles and collaborative training sessions
  • Assist in ongoing process improvement and technical support

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or graduate of an approved Registered Nursing program

  • Licensure:
    • Active New York State RN license required

  • Experience:
    • 1 to 3 years in utilization review, appeals, or clinical review
    • Familiarity with electronic medical records
    • Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams

  • Skills:
    • Strong written and verbal communication
    • Excellent organizational and analytical abilities
    • Innovative, flexible, and able to meet deadlines in time-sensitive environments
